Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ouarzazate - Merzouga
Early morning departure from Marrakech through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260m). Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou kasbah, famous for its appearances in Hollywood films. Continue through Ouarzazate, known as the "Gateway to the Sahara," before reaching the edge of the Sahara Desert at Merzouga.
Day 2: Merzouga Desert Experience
Full day exploring the Sahara Desert. Meet nomadic families, visit the village of Khamlia to experience Gnawa music, and explore fossil sites. In the afternoon, embark on a camel trek into the heart of Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the spectacular sunset. Spend the night in a traditional Berber desert camp with dinner around the campfire and traditional music under the stars.
Day 3: Merzouga - Todra Gorges - Atlas Mountains - Marrakech
Early morning sunrise over the dunes before camel trek back to the hotel. After breakfast, journey through the dramatic Todra Gorges with its towering canyon walls. Continue through the Dades Valley and over the Atlas Mountains, arriving in Marrakech by evening with unforgettable memories of your Sahara adventure.
